It´s very possitive to gain perspective from time to time. It´s interesting to realize that we are very important, but at the same time insignificant unless we can see ourselves as an integral part of everything else. We are not outside Nature, or other animals or plants. In other words, we are not alien to the rest of the universe. Quite the contrary, we are part of a whole and it is precisely in that being part of a whole that our greatness emerges.
We often forget that we belong to Life, to Nature. We forget that our place is in there. Because we forget, this loneliness, a sense of isolation and fear of "all out there" appears. It is this illusory presumption that we are the center of the universe that causes our loneliness and it is where our greatest absurdity lies.
The good news is it´s all a phallacy. A mere invention of the ego to think that so by we become stronger. Just a bad dream based on a phallacy.
